Bundl Australia- Baby Organic Wraps

Can you give us a quick history of how Bundl came to be?

After many years working in the infant industry and raising my own three small children, I recognised that there was a gap in the market for an infant wrap that was warm, versatile and easy to use, but also one that was made from natural and organic materials. As a result the idea for the Bundl Wool Wrap was born. It has been a long journey, sourcing the highest quality materials and getting the design spot on to offer our luxurious products to the world.

Why is going organic so important to you?

Babies and infants are much more sensitive to what we put on their skin compared to adults. They are especially sensitive to toxic chemicals and research has shown that the impact is greater during pregnancy and early childhood.

Infants experience greater exposure to harmful chemicals as their skin is thinner and more permeable, meaning that they absorb much more from the environment compared to adults. The skin is our largest organ and absorbs so much of what we put on it. The skin not only protects us, but helps regulate our body temperature and plays many essential functions. It is so important that we are conscious of what we expose it to.

The best and safest option for infants is to choose clothing and bedding made from organic cotton. Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production replenishes and maintains soil fertility, growing crops that aren't treated with pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and Genetically Modified Organisms. These toxins are harmful for farmers and workers, us as consumers, and entire wildlife eco-systems.

The organic cotton yarn that we use both in our blankets and in the wool wraps is 100% Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified. GOTS is the world's leading textile processing standard when it comes to organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria.

GOTS certification covers the whole textile process including fair labour practices (no child labour!) and the assurance that there are no known toxic substances used as part of the manufacturing process and therefore safe for humans.

We all want to limit our baby’s exposure to potentially harmful chemicals and sleeping on natural and organic bedding is perfect for their precious, delicate skin.

What are your current best sellers?

Both the Bundl Wool Wrap and the organic blanket have been equally popular. Both are perfect all year around and are great gender neutral gift ideas. We are also about to release zero waste wool and organic cotton nursing pads which are made from the offcuts from the wool wraps.

When you’re not working on Bundl, what can we find you doing?

I love keeping fit and in the evenings you’ll find me clocking off from Mummy duties and heading to the gym. On the weekends you will find us at our local coffee shop and we love heading to the beach as a family or going on bushwalks.

This might be like asking you to pick a favourite child but which is your favourite product and why?

I think my favourite would have to be the Bundl Wool Wrap. A lot of time and love has been poured into the design of this product and I am proud of its uniqueness and the positive feedback that it has gained so far.

Finally, because it’s always nice to get to know more about the person behind the brand, can you please help us answer the following #quickfire questions?

Winter or Summer? Got to be Summer

Coffee or Wine? Need my daily Coffee!

Beach or Mountain? Tough one, but would have to say beach

Flying or Sailing? Sailing (I met my husband sailing in Croatia!)

Black or White? White

Book or Movie? I love a good book, if I ever get a moment to read it.
